When it's bed time (7:45pm) my 8 year old starts an argument and screams at me ("this is the worst day of my life, school was bad, everything is bad..."), saying she wants to sleep at Dad's house. We've been separated for 5 yrs and live close-by. She says it's unfair that she can't choose where to sleep, though she is allowed to sleep at his house, if she raises the question prior to dinner time.
