Q:
9 year old autistic child not in school
I have an autistic nephew. He is in a district that cannot service his needs as dictated by his IEP. He has not been in school this school year. How long can they not provide schooling for this 9 year old child? He is registered in the Inkster School District. He attended Detroit public schools last year. He and his family moved to Inkster this past summer. He registered in the Inkster district and they have no program for him and is supposed to refer him elsewhere. To date, that has not been done.
