What action should be taken if a student hits a teacher in the face?

Teachers have no rights in the classroom and their hands, mouth, legs just about everywhere is bound and it is in my opinion making them very unhappy to the point that they are finding it difficult to carry on their duties due to this factor. what do you think?

It would seem that some of what should happen would depend on the age of the child who did the hitting. A preschooler or early elementary aged child is very different from a middle school or high school student. But even a young child should be disciplined for hitting anyone, especially their teacher.

Hitting a teacher crosses a serious boundary. By hitting a teacher, they are showing a serious lack of respect for authority. This is very disturbing because if a child gets away with hitting a teacher, who is to say what they might do the next time. There is a big problem with violence in schools and this child needs to get the message that this behavior is not going to be tolerated. A temporary school suspension and anger management counseling are a couple of options. If this student has a history of assaultive behavior, then police should be called.

How old is this student? I work with teens and if one othem did that it would be an automatic 3day suspession and a manditory meting with the student, parents and your principal.

I would like more information on this subject. How old is the child? Age would determine the action that should be taken, worse case the child should be removed from the school and charged with assault. This is a violent act of a disrespectful child and punishment must be enforced for the safety of our teachers and students.
