What activity can I do with my kids, 7 and 5 after school if they do not have homework, rather than watching tv?

If there's homework that's the 1st thing we do. Reading will be after dinner, before bed time. But if they don't have homework, they always run to the tv. Especially my soon to be 5 year old daughter who goes to preschool for a half day, she loves tv, but i really need u guys to share with me what some ideas that they will love to do more than watching tv.
