Hi I have a home daycare and I believe that each child is different.  A good age to start prescool would be three.  By age three they are able to follow directions and understand concepts.  Children benifit being around other children their age.  They learn positive social, emotional and cognitive behaviors from going to preschool.  This will help them in the future when they start school.
