My four year old has recently realized that some of his actions hurt...like kicking and hitting hurts the person when he is not getting his way. What is an approp punishment for this behavior and how what can I do to stop it? He is currently in a time out in his room, yelling and screaming loudly for kicking and scratching me when I told him no friends today because of no nap. Am I doing the wrong thing? Is there another approach I should try?
