have asked school for help,and ive had final waring letter go court,ive took away all his stuff computers ect,tv,and he still refushes to go school

Hello, Heidi,

The first thing you'll want to do is try to find out what's causing your son to resist school. You've tried a number of negative consequences which oftentimes work with teenagers unless something a little different is going on. For example, if he has anxiety, he may dig his heels into the ground regardless of what you take away from him as a consequence.

That said, perhaps you should take him to see a counselor or look into a psychological assessment. Basically touch base with a professional who can talk to your son and determine whether he may be suffering from a disorder. If he is, you can explain this to the school system and ask for help. If a disorder is affecting his attendance, the school district should hopefully have alternatives for him.
