What the Expert Says:

Hello and thank you for writing.  I hope to give you support and resources in this answer.

First, please contact the local school district and ask if you may meet with them regarding their early intervention programs.  This should include help for behaviors. Be sure to ask for a meeting in writing with a follow-up phone call if needed.

Next, consider connecting with area autism support groups.  Information can be found on AUTISM SPEAKS. http://www.autismspeaks.org
Many areas have support groups for parents which includes workshops by professionals on a variety of topics, including behavioral issues.

Communication is often a problem with children on the spectrum, you may wish to include simple sign language in to your day in order to give your child a non-verbal form for letting you know what he needs, wants or how he feels.

Here is a list of online support communities to help you:

THE COFFEE KLATCH- a group that includes parents, professionals and educators. Radio shows, Twitter chat and much more. Http://www.thecoffeeklatch.com (also, you will find Special Needs Radio with this group, etc.)

Our Journey Thru Autism  http://www.ourjourneythruautism.com   Another parent support group with excellent information shared.

Spirit of Autism http://www.spiritofautism.org   A mom started this group and shares very useful information.

Kyle's Treehouse  http://www.kylestreehouse.org  Another organization started by parents of a child with autism.

Kidlutions:  An excellent resource for parents who have children with behavioral issues.  The Anger Toolbox that is offered on the site may be something you wish to check out.

Good luck!!

It sounds as if your son is having a hard time with the sensory of the clothes on his body (coming from another mom of a child on the spectrum that used to strip.) Try different types of clothing and keep an idea of what is working and what is not.
Does the detergent leave the clothes stiff? Are the tags touching him? Behaviors happen for a reason with our kids and sometimes its just a matter of them not being able to correctly voice their issues.
For a long time, we had to wear only soft fabrics (the cotton leggings and t-shirts with the tags cut out).
Did this just start? What else has changed? New detergent, or fabric softner, etc?
It's like being a detective.
