Depends on what else is in the mixture. If it is mixed with sand, you can get it out by dissolving the sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) in water and then pouring the water through a colander, leaving the sand behind. Evaporate the water and you have NaHCO3 crystals. If it is mixed with other substances that also dissolve in water, then you have a problem!
