Here is an article you may find helpful to your research:

What Makes a Banned Book?

As for Charlotte's Web, according to Wikipedia, Publishers Weekly listed the book as the best-selling children's paperback of all time as of 2000.

To find out why some may have banned this popular book, you might contact the American Library Association, which organizes Banned Books Week in September/October:

Good luck on your project, and let us know what you learn!

I found this in an article I was reading for an essay I am writing in my English class.

"Charlotte’s Web," the story of a pig that befriends a remarkably talented spider, was challenged for its "unnatural" depiction of talking animals.

Charlotte's Web was banned because it features talking animals. Here is an interesting blog post about it. Hope this answers your question!

The book was banned because it is politically geared and speaks of revolts and uprisings through the use of animals.
