that depends on activity.  weigh gain involves extra calories above the 1500-2000 calories required by most teens. Three year olds eat less. Try adding a morning and afternoon snack to the daily diet. It can be healthy carbs. Avoid soda, juice and extra sugar.  smoothies are a great way to go and many recipes are on line.
