What the Expert Says:

Here are some quotes from a book called NO ROOM FOR BULLIES:

- “Bullies can actually be quite popular.  Many times, they are very connected to school life through athletics, academics, or other extracurricular activities.”
- “Bullies generally are strong, confident, and aggressive, much more so than their victims.”
- Bullies “have a need to dominate others and show little empathy toward their victims.”  They often show aggression to parents, teachers, peers, and siblings.
- Bullying behavior is “partly attributable to inadequately developed empathy and perspective-taking skills.  Understanding the feelings of others is difficult for bullies.  Usually, they are interested only in satisfying their own immediate wants and desires.”

Hopefully this helps!
