What the Expert Says:

It sounds like you have been working very hard to provide your son with the necessary interventions to support his learning and development.

Unfortunately, a diagnosis of Autism cannot be given online, but I do recommend that you talk with your son's special education team and/or pediatrician to discuss your concerns.

That said, I think that it is worthwhile to research Autism further, so that you can ask good questions when speaking with the professionals in your son's life. I have included an excellent summary article on the topic of Autism below. Some of the key features of Autism include difficulties in social understanding and communication. You didn't mention these issues as being a concern, but you should consider these symptoms as you review your son's development.

Sincerely,

If you are concerned with whether your child may or may not have autism, I strongly urge you to contact your local school district and ask for a meeting to discuss an evaluation.  Also, I have added a helpful website for you below.
