What the Expert Says:

Hello and thank you for writing to JustAsk!

One of the challenges we face as parents is motivating our children to learn.  Some children prefer to be "all play" and not interested in academics.  Therefore, we need to build the bridge between the two and make learning more fun!  Try fun materials to help your child want to use them at school (Such as smelly markers)

Here on Education. com we have a whole host of ideas to create a more engaging learning environment.  Also, we offer some games that double as learning tools.  Here is our link to special activities for your child: http://www.education.com/activity/

Many online sites are chocked full of interesting ways to learn, such as KABONGO for early literacy.

If your child is older (high school), we hope that you will write back with additional questions and specifics!

Good luck!
