Q:

How to help children who have short attention spans?

The child would not sit to complete an activity and would often move around the school not staying in one particular area.

What the Expert Says:

Hello and thank you for writing to JustAsk!

I am not sure about the age of your child and my response would be dependent on knowing the age expectations of the child. If your child is young, say kindergarten or first grade, then perhaps the child is not able to sit because the time expectations are too much.  If the child is having poor attending as an older child, then it could be a concern which may warrant a discussion with the child's doctor.

Good luck!
