What the Expert Says:

This sounds like a tough one.  Buses are some of the places where bullying can be the most severe.  We think that the best way to start dealing with this would be to report what is happening to somebody.  Whether it is a teacher, counselor, principal or bus driver, often without adult intervention these situations do no improve.  When you report this incident, go with other people from the bus who are also being bullied.  The more the people who are being targetted stand together, the more supported everybody feels.  Stick together, talk to other people on the bus and find a way to help yourselves without becoming bullies yourselves.  If you try to pick on them or fight back, it will likely only escalate the problem and make things worse for everybody.  But we also don't think you should sit there and take it.  Talk to the people at your school and to your parents and do so in a group.
