Ask her teacher if there are certain writing abilities that you should work with your daughter to improve. You might also focus on the elements of writing that she is doing well -- to help build up her confidence in tackling the other elements she struggles with.

Make sure your daughter knows that no one is born a brilliant writer -- it takes years of learning and practice.
