Q:
Is there any danger or liability to allowing parents to "teach" a preschool class without a teacher present in the room?
Our preschool has requested that parents volunteer to "teach" the preschool classes for several hours so the teachers can have a "duty free day" and attend a luncheon. This seems potentially dangerous to me. Parents aren't certified as teachersin First Aid or in CPR. What if a child is seriously injured or has a severe allergic reaction resulting in shock? We have one child with a serious food allergy requiring an epi-pen if exposed. Is the school negligent in leaving their students with untrained volunteers?
