What the Expert Says:

A child's cholesterol over the age of two often reflects what it will be as an adult.  Yes, we all need cholesterol to make hormones and our body normally processes it well.  However, if the cholesterol is high (>200mg.), most pediatricians would recommend diet observation, exercise and general good health routines.  It may not change the numbers if the family has a history of high cholesterol, but it is still important to maintain good heart health.
