We need an easy 1-2 minute monologue for 8 year old attending drama camp.

Our daughter is attending a two-week drama camp this summer that culminates in a play. Unfortunately, the camp hasn't yet selected or announced what the play will be, and has asked that all participating students arrive on the first day with a 1-2 minute monologue memorized (to audition for the play).

While our daughter has been involved with this children's theater group once before (learning and performing for a musical production of Cinderella), she hasn't yet learned an entire 1-2 minute monologue so needs to start learning one now.

Have any suggestions for an easy monologue for beginning drama students? We're open to any ideas at this point. Thanks for your help!

As a mom of a professional actor who started at a young age, I can tell you from experience that some of the best monologues for young children are those they write themselves. Funny experiences are often the best!
