What the Expert Says:

Hi -
This is an easy one! There are hundreds of ways suggested in the several short essays you'll find right on this Website in the Special Edition on Nature Deficit Disorder.

Most all kids love to explore new environments (as long as they feel safe). Explore the world with them on nature hikes, canoeing lake and river banks, bird-watching, collecting shells on a beach, fishing, ... well, you get the idea. These outdoor activities will enrich both you and your child, and keep you both healthy by helping you get your vitamin D and exercise. Kids find different things interesting in nature - listen to them and watch their responses. Some might enjoy photography or keeping a notebook. Have fun!
