Iowa has spent a great deal of time and energy creating a reform system for K12 education in the state. The effort has focused on standards and assessment- describing what children should know by grade/level and then assessing them to determine if they are proficient about what they should know and do.

The first place is your child school. Ask the principal for information and copies. The second place is your school district office. You can usually find a Director of Curriculum and Instruction who can guide you. Try looking for them in the internet.
