mykidsmom asks:

Do you know of any fun education software for 3rd grader with Asperger syndrome?

I can not find any good website/software (something like jump start).  There are a  lot of options for preschool to 1nd grade but nothing then.  Any suggestions?  I do not mind paying subscription fee?  Thank you

What the Expert Says:

Hello and thank you for writing to JustAsk!

I recently have been investigating websites for children with autism and have came upon some which I feel are great for kids!  These have all been created by parents.  As with all computer activity, as a parent you may wish to investigate first prior to showing to your child.

For general entertainment with educational value:

3.  (this site may be overstimulating in sections, you will need to be the judge.  Excellent ratings for online safety.)

If you are looking to learn online sign language to help with communication check out a new site that is very easy to negotiate:

For other resources:   Mostly a parent/educator resource. Kyle often writes on this website.  You can ask questions directly to parents with children with autism on their parent forum.    Tons of information for parents here.

Good luck and I hope this information helps!
