German summer reading & other resources?

My children are learning German and I would like to get recommendations on good books for 1st graders to read during the summer. Also, does anyone know of online resources for German comprehension, vocabulary support for this grade? Neither my husband or I speak German so we need all the help we can get for our kids. thanks for any ideas.
