What the Expert Says:

I'm not an expert on books for toddlers, but here are some fiction books that might interest your 5th grade son.

The Homework Machine by Dan Gutman
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
The 39 Clues Book 1 by Rick Riordan
The Lighten Thief by Rick Riodan

However, if you son is more interested in nonfiction, you may want to try some of these books.

Baseball in April and Other Stories by Bary Soto
The Wright Brother How they Invented the Airplane by Russell Freedman

There are also magazines, comic books and other materials that might interest your son.  Check out GuysRead.com  It is a fantastic resource for boys and parents.

Happy reading!
