Q:
Why is my grandson having problems repeating kindergarten?
His parents moved my grandson from a Catholic School to a public school close to home. He is very smart and ahead in his class. However, I have noticed he does not want to go to school and cries. He is clinging to parents. He cries when he doesn't get his way. He went to pre K and kindergarten and did not cry. Is he regressing because there is no challenge? The children are younger. Also noticed he is not behaving. He and I are very close. He tells me he helps the teacher, but he still has time to do his work. I am trying to stay out of his parents' decision to make him repeat kindergarten, however, I am concerned.
