Hi ACDV,

According to the Centers for Disease Control: "Vaccines are the most important tool we have for preventing influenza...This season, 2009 H1N1 vaccines are being made to protect against the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus."

Another JustAsk member also recently asked about the ingredients in the vaccine, and you can review the answer they received here (with links to additional resources):

And here is some information from a JustAsk Expert about the vaccine: http://www.education.com/question/nasel-spray-shot-dangers/

For information specific to your or your family's health, please consult your doctor (or child's pediatrician).

it is necessary.it protects you from getting the swine flu and from giving it to others.if you do not get the shot you [might] get sick and you might die.plus you can spread it to others.that if they didnt get the shot and if they did then they have nothing to worry about.hopefully there will be no side efects but the hospitals are perpared.i dont know what the h1n1 consist of i would ask the people who are giving the shot out tomorrow at health department.go there to get the shot it is free.to everybody
