How to handle drama at school

I'm facing drama at school because a girl started false rumors that I had sex with a boy. And now people at school hate me, talk behind my back, make fun of me, tease me, threaten to tell the principal and blame me. I do not know how to handle this. I'm already stressed because I'm a senior in high school and trying to find a college I like. I'm very upset, confused and sad that someone would spread false rumors that aren't true about me at school.

What the Expert Says:

You are right being a senior and looking to the future can be very stressful and now on top of all of this you are dealing with gossip.

Have you thought about going to the principle or school counselor yourself? Both of these individuals would be able to help you deal with the gossip.

You have to focus on the positive thing that you have going on in your life and those people around who can be a source of support of you. This can be your parents or other family members, it can be teachers and counselors at school. This can be your true friends.
