Talk. Talk. Talk. Talk. Some children love to talk. Sometimes it is because they learn best by talking to others. Some children talk because no one at home has time to listen to them. So, try listening to the stories they are sharing. Let them learn to trust you more as you help to direct their behavior to more appropriate forms and times. These young students will need a lot of support, patience, kind redirection, and more patience. Encourage these children to watch the faces of the people who are talking and help them to learn more appropriate social behavior. Above all, reinforce them frequently for the little steps they take in the right direction.
