Yes, it will.  You are essentially lying to the child and you will lose credibility. You don't need excuses to take a nap.  You are the parent and you don't need excuses. Just nap. Depending on the age, you may want to keep a routine to encourage good napping. It is tough with younger children, but best wishes.
