Dear Jazzy:

Parents sometimes face loneliness and depression when their daily lives and responsibilities change by having a child leave for college. Many parents are also faced with difficult decision making about home and future as a couple.  These can be daunting if your spouse communication skills have faded over the years.

On the other hand, young people face health issues such as flu, colds, rashes, etc...from communal dorm living.

Good preparation makes all the difference.
