I personally believe that 1sst grade children are too young to be taking on academic tutoring on top of their regular schooling, unless they have a serious developmental or learning problem that needs early intervention. Young children are learning not only in the classroom, but also through playing and experiencing the world. Your likely child has a hard time focusing because he needs to be interacting with the world through play, exploration, and activities that stimulate his brain while moving his body. Save the tutoring for middle school, and let your kid be a kids for a little while longer.
