I volunteered to spearhead our PTA's program for Earth Day at our school. I'm looking for ideas for activities to suggest to the teachers for their classrooms, that aren't too expensive or complicated. We're also considering some kind of contest for environmental friendly projects the family's complete at home and the children bring to show & tell. What do you suggest? Any other ideas for our Earth Day program? Thanks for sharing!
Keep checking back as we get closer to the April too, as there will be even more projects and articles added in the coming weeks.
Also, if families or teachers at your school create Earth Day or environmental activities not already included above, consider encouraging them to submit their ideas for publication on Education.com! Here are Submission Guidelines for sharing their projects on Education.com: http://www.education.com/submission/
Another way to showcase school or family projects on Education.com is to upload photos on the activity pages. You have to be a member to do so (membership is free), but it's really easy -- simply post a comment and click the "attach images" link at the bottom of the comment box.
I'm including below some additional resources you may also find helpful.
