Hello!
What a great question! I believe that parents need to teach children about unconditional love, mutual respect and random acts of kindness. Also, the value of a good education and that learning is lifelong and does not end when you cross the stage your senior year in high school to receive your diploma.
I know that you said "thing" but to limit to one quality was too hard!
