Why isnt the experiment working for my project?

Trying to melt Styrofoam in nail polish remover. Nothing is happening to the cup. I even tried other Styrofoams things like packing foam and craft foam.

I am not familiar with this reaction. Perhaps you should check for the ingredients of the nail polish remover. Do different brands use the same active ingredient? What previous knowledge or evidence leads you to expect that melting will occur? A negative result does not mean that your experiment isn't working. Good luck.
