What the Expert Says:

Judging a website may involve knowing the reliability of the resources used. Is the author of the website an authority (level of education, experienced in the field)?

Ask a librarian if you would like to know about the resources used on a website. Wikipedia, for example, is written by the public and is not considered a scholarly work. However, Wikipedia is a good source for a quick definition or basic information and other sources of information that may be on an academically acceptable level.

hi....A simultaneously wonderful and annoying thing about the Internet is that just about anyone can put up a website in a matter of minutes. This is an obvious boon to free speech, because you can get a message out there and communicate something to the world without having to spend a lot of money or effort on doing it.
