What the Expert Says:

If the teacher is using the cold weather as a punishment then he is not acting appropriately. Any concerns about the way a teacher is treating their students should be taken to the principal immediately. Schedule an appointment when they have time to sit and discuss your concerns. It's important to get a picture of the entire situation, so don't approach the meeting with an accusatory tone toward the teacher. Rather, simply explain your concerns with concrete examples of the inappropriate discipline. Start with the principal and work your way up if you don't feel that the issue is being adequately resolved.

hi...

things to consider for disciplining:
1. make the child misses out on things he likes to do.
2. THE DISCIPLINING TECHNIQUE SHOULD NOT BE HARMFUL, TRAUMATIC OR HURT THE CHILD. (PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY)
it is not appropriate if it is tooooo cold for the child to take, infact i would say anywhere near that.

hope this helps... :)

It sounds like the teacher doesn't have proper classroom management techniques. I'd bring it to the principals attention and monitor the situation. If the behavior continues i'd ask to get my child switched out of the class.
