Hi Mika,
There are several books in our preschool gift guide on the Parent's Guide to Preschool area:
http://www.education.com/grade/preschool/

We reviewed hundreds of books and three of our favorites were:
Library Mouse by Daniel Kirk
Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina
I'm Dirty by Kate and Jim McMullan

Little Bear is also a wonderful, gentle series with a sense of humor. And the Mr. Men and Little Miss series have just been re-released here in the U.S. I remember these from my own little days and it's been a joy to read them with my son.

Have fun!
