Q:
Do you know of online academic tests for homeschooled students?
I homeschool my two boys.  I live in a state that does not require testing to see where my kids are but I would like to know for my own direction in planning for their education.  Does anyone know of some academic tests online that elementary children can take?  When I was in school we had the CAT tests that we took every couple years.  I guess I am looking for something like that.  Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.  ~S

Hi Sharon,

Standardized academic tests are certainly available to homeschool parents.  Every state differs on the laws, regulations, and testing.  A good source to find information on your state is through the Home school Legal Defense Assocation: http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp

Hope this helps!

Do any other home school parents have any ideas about testing?

A lot of parents do test their kids and I will bet that there are homeschooling families in your area who get together and test annually so ask around your area support groups!
