Do you know of online academic tests for homeschooled students?
I homeschool my two boys. I live in a state that does not require testing to see where my kids are but I would like to know for my own direction in planning for their education. Does anyone know of some academic tests online that elementary children can take? When I was in school we had the CAT tests that we took every couple years. I guess I am looking for something like that. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. ~S
Hi Sharon,
Standardized academic tests are certainly available to homeschool parents. Every state differs on the laws, regulations, and testing. A good source to find information on your state is through the Home school Legal Defense Assocation: http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp
Hope this helps!
Do any other home school parents have any ideas about testing?
Hi! You did not specify the grade level of your kids. I'll answer your question anyway. There are downloadable SAT-10 practice tests for k-2 at http://sirarthurdeesonlineteachingresources.com/. The products come with teacher read-aloud directions, answer key, and booklets where students will bubble in their answers. The pages look like the actual SAT-10. Thank you.
Homeschoolers can take the NWEA MAP test online through Affordable Homeschool Testing Services LLC. FYI, if you're looking at the online CAT test, ask about the version. Some of the sites use the 1970 CAT.
