I am a second parent of an ADHD medicated 9 year old. I have visitation 2 weekends per month. He has rude behavior when told no. He seems so angry.

take this information back to the treating parent. If you also share custody, speak with the prescribing physician. If not, hold him accountable for his behavior as you would any 9 year old. Remember that 37% of children with ADD have some other disability often Oppositional Defiant Behavior. Go on line to CHAD and look up behavior modification.

It might be that the medication may be triggering his anger. I would take a look back at when he started this medication, how many different ones he has been on, and start recording when you vistit, his behaviors. Two weekends per month really doesn't give you enough time to understand why he is reacting this way. It could also be numerous other things like maybe he is upset that he doesnt see you enough.. .....Children act out when they are not getting what they need in the home also. Curious why does he only get to see you 2 weekends a month?
