The Cook Islands are 95% "green" (forest covered), followed by Surinam, French Guiana, and the Solomon Islands (about 90%), then it drops down to Gabon and the Bahamas with about 85%.

Among the large countries the amount of forested land is as follows:
Russia 851,392 ha 50.4 % 5.8 ha per capita
Brazil 543,905 ha 64.3 % 3.2 ha per capita
Canada 244,571 ha 26.5 % 7.9 ha per capita
USA 225,993 ha 24.7 % 0.8 ha per capita
China 163,480 ha 17.5 % 0.1 ha per capita
