What the Expert Says:

Physical activity is a necessary part of healthy living.  However, our society is designed in such a way that our lifestyles are more sedentary than they should.  For example, we have an abundance of drive-through establishments, we drive everywhere, many people spend a lot of time in front of the television, computer, or video games.  All of that, has a negative impact on our health.  That pertains especially to children, because from a very young age, they learn eating and physical activity habits that will cary into their adult lives and affect their health.  Therefore, physical education is school should be mandatory and available to all children throughout the academic year.  The more the better!
