Could you tell me if there is some relation between TS, ADD, and OCD and AS?

My son of 7 was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome, ADD, and OCD.
He was taking medication for his Tics and for ADD.
But his symptoms of ADD got worst and the only difference is that he doesn't show the skills that he normally use to have before the medication for Matt an analytical thoughts. He looks very quiet and inattentive, like in his own world. He doesn't listen or give eye contact.

With out the medication he is obsessive for science projects and insects, dinosaurs, fish. And he uses to show a high interest in history events.
He showed a brilliant mind at school, but his relation with other kids was never good. He is always distracted with a thing in particular to the point of obsession.
Many of the symptoms look similar to As Syndrome.
Could you tell me if there is some relation between TS, ADD, and OCD and AS?

Dear Faniduisa:

Most children with ADD almost 40% will have some other issue such as OCD or behavioral changes. In your son's case possible Aspergers, Tourette, OCD and ADD requries a good evaluation by a physician who is board certified in child neurology or psychiatry. You want him to have a normal social life of a 7 year old and yet succeed in a traditional school setting. His interests are normal for his age. Go for a child study team at his school. Sometimes a contained classroom with student aides will help him focus and introduce him to how to make and keep friends. Speak with the director of special services. Many local colleges offer Saturday programs for bright kids like yours who don't fit the mold and present with education and social challenges. Keep up your advocacy for him. Look into CHADD for parents of children with ADD and/or a parent group for parents of kids with learning differences. Your pediatrician's office will be a good source of information.
