"Local school districts are required to establish and publish a promotion policy that includes consideration of the following when making promotion/retention decisions:
• The recommendation of the student’s teacher
• The student’s grade in each subject or course
• The student’s score on the TAKS (English or Spanish) in grades 3-8 or an alternate assessment under §39.023(b) or (l)
• Any other necessary academic information"
