Q:
Do SAT scores taken in 10th grade count? If so, is there any way to cancel them and start fresh?
My child took the SAT exam twice in 10th grade when she was 15 years old and thinking about graduating a year early. After speaking to many people, she changed her mind and decided to continue on her regular track. Now, 16 years old and in 11th grade (her birthday is in July), she is unsure whether to retake the test now in the Spring or wait until the Fall of her senior year. She has heard that after 3 times, the colleges calculate the average of all her scores instead of considering the highest score from each section of the total exams taken. Is that true? Also, do her SAT scores from 10th grade count? Is there any way she can cancel those previous two scores and start fresh? Please provide suggestions for best scenario moving forward.
