What the Expert Says:

The simple answer is "Yes."

School staff are responsible for ensuring that students live within a particular school district. Generally, students going to school in one district but living in another must pay out-of-district fees IF allowed to attend. Most schools restrict out-of district attendance.

Even within a district, staff are expected to verify addresses of those in attendance to ensure that students are attending the correct school. Again, this generally deals with funding issues.

Hope this helps.
