The answer depends on the type of discipline your child has received. In would be very impractical, for example, to call every parent whose child has committed a minor infraction of school rules. As the incidents get more serious, parents are likely to be called more frequently.

At the same time, if you have any issues with the discipline handed out, as a parent you have every right to make and appointment and talk with the principal.
