Q:
Because our school system has one middle school, and it hasn't made AYP, can my child transfer to another school outside of our school district?
My husband and I have read the information containing the transferring of schools under the NCLB act. However, we are a little confused about smaller school systems with only one school. Our daughter will be attending middle school, and the school is the only middle school in our district. There is a middle school that is in a neighboring city which is three miles away, but we have been told that she will be unable to attend due the school zoning for school districts. What can we do, and how does the NCLB act help us to assist in providing our child with a quality education?
