Q:
Do schools impact home value and appreciation?
I have been using www.wannaknow.com and am trying to create a resume that includes the schools for the area I live in but some of the schools are really good and some are really bad.  Should I leave all out or do you think the schools will create more value to a potential buyer?

Hi there,

Yes, the assigned schools and school districts are key factors affecting the prices of homes in certain areas or neighborhoods.  Knowing the local schools is important to homebuyers, so I suggest providing the schools for this reason.

Education.com's SchoolFinder resource provides school and district performance information, and is valued by the real estate community as a free third party tool for this information.

Best,
Kelly
