Shy and reserved kid

Hi,
My son is going to be 3yrs in another 2 days. Being a boy he is very shy whereas other boys of his age are usually very talkative. He is friendly and mingles but only within the family. But when I have guests at home he is very shy and reserved and sometimes even starts crying. This is really bothering me. Should I put him a preschool? Will that help?

When to send a child to school can be a difficult decision to make, and you want to be sure you are sending him to school for the right reasons.

You don't necessarily have to send your son to preschool yet. At his age he would be one of the youngest in his class. For boys this is not always recommended as the ideal situation. You can wait until he is closer to 4 years old before he is in a structured setting. Use this year at home with him as a time of more laid back get- togethers with friends and play dates. Look into a mom's group at your church or another location. This way he can ease into being around other kids his own age before going straight to a preschool.

Kids at this age sometimes face such interaction problems. And it is common with boys as well. There is nothing to worry about Dear. The best solution to your problem is you can enroll you child to Eurokids preschool. That will make him more open to new people as he can make new friends and interact with. You can look on their webpage for more details.
